Meet Rob

Rob Frank is a native Oregonian, born and raised in the neighboring community of Lakeview. He left Oregon for a short time to attend University of Nevada – Reno before transferring to Oregon State University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in General Agriculture and a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Education. Following completion of his education, Rob moved to Harney County to accept a teaching position in Agricultural Education at Crane High School.

In the nearly 20 years Rob has lived in Harney County, he has been active in our community and has held several elected and volunteer positions to make a positive impact in our communities. In addition to his past positions as an FFA Advisor and teacher at Crane High School, Rob was elected to the Harney County School District 3 School Board in 2019 where he still serves today. He served on the Harney District Hospital Board for five years after he was elected in 2017 and has volunteered and served on the Harney County ESD Budget Board, the County Planning Commission, and the Natural Resources Advisory Committee.

Rob is incredibly passionate about bettering our education and economy in Harney County for our kids and future generations to come. His experience on budget and planning committees has given him the necessary skills to properly manage our county budget and taxpayer dollars. Rob is an active leader who partners with his colleagues, neighbors, and other stakeholders in the community to create solutions to our unique issues. He also knows properly managing and enhancing our natural resources is paramount to better our economy which leads to better jobs, better schools, and a better future for us all.

The commitment to a stronger Harney County is a family affair. Rob proudly supports his wife, Kellie, in her roles as Food Systems Coordinator for Biz Harney and as a small business owner specializing in local farm-to-table products. Their favorite activity is raising and spending time with their three young children, all of whom were born right here in Harney County.

Outside of his public service and family responsibilities, Rob has honed his craft of making custom saddles for fellow cowboys and enjoys working on ranches with friends and neighbors.
