What Rob Stands For

Building relationships, bettering Harney County

By working together, we can better manage county and taxpayer dollars, improve our local economy, manage our natural resources, and advance our education system. I will partner with business owners, families, community members, and stakeholders to encourage success in our industries and expand them to secure economic stability. By attracting new industries, we will directly influence the resources available to kids and schools, increase investments into our local economy, and create good-paying jobs.

Managing county and tax-payer dollars

We must properly manage the county budget to save for a rainy day, fully fund public service needs, and create opportunities for citizens and businesses to flourish. Better local management means reduced government intervention and regulatory red tape. As a member of the budget committee for several years, I know how to take a hard look and make the tough calls on revenue and spending without compromising necessary investments to fund essential public services.

Enhancing our natural resources

Our top priority needs to be protecting and strengthening our agricultural and natural resource industries, while looking for additional business and economic development opportunities. Managing and enhancing our natural resources is a direct line to a stronger economy which is a direct line to better schools, better jobs, and a better future for all of us.

Effective and accessible education

As a father and former teacher, I can’t think of anything more important than the future of our kids. It is crucial our schools have the resources they need to be successful, so our children have the best opportunities possible. By stabilizing our economy, we will improve the quality of education we can offer and ensure Harney County is a welcome place for future generations to live, work, and raise their families here.
